Few individuals have as much real influence over how the Martial Arts are seen today and where the Martial Arts is going to be in the future then WorldBlackBelt Founding Member Alan Goldberg. Being the number one Disciple of Wing Chun Kung Fu Grandmaster Jason Lau and being the holder of 41 Hall of Fame Awards qualifies Alan as a true traditionalist, but as the publisher of Action Martial Arts Magazine and the host of several radio and television shows, he is certainly very much a part of the Martial Arts media mainstream.

Alan started training in the Martial Arts 38 years ago, and besides having trained Wing Chun Kung Fu he has also trained in several other styles, including Shotokan Karate, Ving Tsun Kung Fu, Yee chi Kung and Five Animal Kung Fu. Alan is also very skilled in the use of various Chinese and Okinawan weapons. Alan applied his remarkable training and skills to the development of the Law Enforcement Survival System (LESS), the only self-defense course ever taught the New York City Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit.

Alan’s dedication to the Martial Arts is extraordinary. For five years he lived in a Shaolin Wing Chun Temple with Sifu Lau and three other disciples, and he was the first non-Chinese to be recognized as a member of the Eastern U.S. Kung Fu Federation.
